Dental Surgery or Software Company Event? By Darryl Praill, Adexa EVP, Marketing If you chose the surgery then, no doubt, you've had the same negative experiences I've had at too many software company events. They're focused on selling me solutions to problems I don't have, rather than delivering the two things I really need...improved performance and higher financial returns. If I had a filling for every time it happened, my mouth would look like that "Jaws" character from the James Bond films (Richard Kiel played "Jaws" in "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Moonraker"). We have an article on Adexa's upcoming customer/industry summit later in this newsletter, and I hope you'll take the time to read it. What we've tried to do is organize a conference that will deliver tangible benefits to all comers. The Executive Forum could have been subtitled "Show Me the Money." Every speaker will be focused on the relationship between technology and cash... not just in terms of budget and revenue, but the profitability of each and every action in your business process and their impact on earnings per share. A recent study by AMR chronicled the formula for tripling returns and the author of that study, Debra Hofman, is our keynote speaker and you’ll find one of her recent works included in this newsletter. Adexa customers, both executive and software user level, will see that we've created specific sessions for them. How to quantify the financial value of Adexa benefits and translate that into accurate earnings forecasts for existing and new shareholders. How to merge operational and customer service targets with financials for performance results that meet or exceed departmental profitability targets. Even basic software training will be offered. We've focused on presenting an event that delivers real value to whoever attends. After Adexa's last major event, we surveyed attendees to find out the intangibles that make a conference particularly enjoyable for them...over and above content. Warm climate was one (sorry Dofasco, but Go Tiger Cats!) and networking in a fun environment was another. We've worked on the environment with a fun part with a theme called "The Supply Chain Mysteries" which you can get a flavor for on the conference page of our website and make sure you watch our vintage "News On the March" promo trailer. We chose this theme because for many CFO’s and CEOs, the return on investment in SC applications has traditionally been shrouded in a veil of algorithms and metrics that are difficult to translate into revenues, profitability and earnings per share. That’s what this conference is all about.
We hope to see you in Orange County.
